A pedicure will get you started but to keep your feet looking beautiful and healthy you should start looking after them properly! It’s good to get in to the habit of regular footcare as often as you can, but that doesn’t have to mean an expensive trip to the salon – it’s just as easy to give yourself a home pedicure and can also be a nice way to indulge yourself.
Start off with your toenails. Remove old nail polish and cut your toenails straight across, if you can, use nail scissors for the best results. Now you should soak your feet in a basin of warm water. This will help to soften skin ready for the next stage. You should soak them for 10-15 minutes so sit back, relax and enjoy some ‘you’ time.
The next step is to remove the dead skin and there are various ways to do this. Scholls Express Pedi is one of the easiest and most effortless ways as you simply switch it on and hold it over hard areas of skin for a few seconds to buff them away. After using your express pedi, rinse your feet back in the basin. Add a few drops of nd vitamin E for a relaxing and cleansing footbath.
This next part is the best for many! Massage a thick, moisturising cream into your feet - as well as feeling great, this will improve the blood circulation. Scholl Velvet Smooth Moisturiser contains Hydramin™, Daymoist™, vitamins A and B and Omega-6 and it moisturises the feet throughout the day with this special formulation. As well as part of your pedicure, use this cream whenever you have time during the week, or when your feet require a top up. It is absorbed within 60 seconds and is non-greasy making it great for daily use.
To finish off, slip a pair of socks on to help keep your feet warm and allow the moisturiser to soak into your skin.
Your feet should now be soft and smooth. The best way to keep them like that is to give them a pedicure as often as you can.
